The existence and spread of firearms cause many of the wild animals in the Arabic speaking countries to have bounties on them. As a result many of the species got extincted including the Atlas lion.
Atlas lion or sometimes known as Barbary lions were lion population which were found in North Africa, specifically in the region of Maghreb as well as Egypt. Due to the continuous hunting of this species, the species has been extinct since the later 1960s.
